District Attorney Julia Slater, flanked by law enforcement from several counties, told reporters the case against Michael and Phillis Bleckley is being prosecuted by her chief deputy, Alonza Whitaker.
Whitaker introduced the members of the Kim family who say they're victims of the Bleckleys who took their money to invest it. Sun Kim said they were approached by Micheal Bleckley.
The Bleckleys were indicted on charges of Conspiracy to Commit Theft, Failure to register as Broker-Dealer, 7 counts of Theft by Taking, 7 counts of Selling Unregistered Securities and Violation of Georgia Racketeer Influence and Corrupt Organization Act (RICO).
The couple own the famous Bulloch House Restaurant in Warm Springs and funeral home in Richland. The restaurant is open for business.
