Judge Land Orders $20,000 Sanction Against California Attorney Orly Taitz

» 1 Comment | Post a Comment

A federal judge in Columbus says a California lawyer must pay $20,000 as punishment for misconduct.

Judge Clay Land imposed the monetary sanction today against Orly Taitz in a 43 page court order. Taitz has been dubbed one of the leaders of the
so-called "birther movement". On behalf of her military clients, she has argued they should not have to be deployed unless President Barack Obama
proves he is eligible to be President and Commander-in-chief. Taitz claims Mr. Obama was not born in this country. Judge Land has called
her filings frivolous.

Taitz has thirty days to pay the $20,000 or the matter will be turned over to the U.S. Attorney for collection proceedings.

In today's ruling the judge made it clear he was not pleased with her response to his initial sanction of $10,000. Orly Taitz did not respond to our attempt to reach her.
