Dothan Commissioners Revamp Bingo Policies
Monday the county commission met in Dothan and voted to adopt the state supreme court's recent definition of bingo. The county's new policy will automatically update to include any new definitions passed by the state legislature. It will not require another vote by the commission. Houston County is where Country Crossing is located, a complex that includes a casino with electronic bingo machines. The casino has been one of the targets of Governor Bob Riley's task force on illegal gambling. The governor announced today that the state will provide assistance to laid off casino workers even though he considers the casinos illegal.
