» 1 Comment | Post a Comment

The gambling issue that has Alabama residents buzzing is expected to be at the center of a press conference by Attorney General Troy King. He's scheduled his conference for Noon at his office in Montgomery. No details are being given about the specific nature of his comments, but King is expected to talk about the Anti-Gambling Task Force that attempted to raid electronic bingo casinos in late January. Several facilities that offered electronic bingo around the state remain closed in light of the legal wrangling.

In Dothan, which is near the Country Crossing entertainment complex, the president of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern
Baptist Convention, is speaking against legalized gambling in Alabama. Country Crossing has been closed since those attempted raids.

In other news across the state, a hearing was scheduled for this morning on the Country Crossing gambling case.
