The Supreme Court of Georgia has upheld the state's sex offender registration law.
A man who pleaded guilty to robbin a 17-year-old girl tried to challenge the law as unconstitutional because it requires some people who have not committed sex crimes to register as offenders.
The court rebuffed the challenge in a 5-2 ruling, finding that it is of "no consequence whether or not one has committed an offense that is 'sexual' in nature before being required to register."
