The Lee County Red Cross and Auburn Parks and Recreation will offer Dog First Aid on Wednesday, October 20 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Jan Dempsey Art Center located at East Drake Avenue in Auburn. The fee is $30 per person.
The Dog First Aid presentation incorporates training with the new Dog First Aid, Be Red Cross Ready Safety Series, Vol. 2 Book. Dog First Aid is a quick reference guide building first aid skills and providing guidance for emergency situations involving dogs until veterinary care is available.
Those attending will be informed on tasks such as how to identify a normal heart and pulse rate, breathing rate and body temperature for dogs, describe how to perform CPR on a dog, demonstrate how to safely muzzle a dog and much more.
No prerequisites are required for enrolling in the Dog First Aid presentation. The target audience for this presentation includes but is not limited to pet owners, animal regulation personnel and volunteers, pet groomers, pet rescue organizations, pet sitters, pet store owners and employees, pet daycare owners and employees and dog handlers of therapy dogs, police K-9 units and search and rescue units.

Class registration is not complete until you have confirmed your reservation in person at our chapter office, by mail or with credit card over the telephone. The class is limited enrollment of 20, early reservations are recommended.
