About 120 of those jobs are available in our area.
The managers at the Home Depot on Sowega Drive in Northeast Columbus say they've already started the hiring process.
They say they're looking to fill 30 to 35 positions by the end of March.
Home Depot in Columbus Asst. Manager David Self says the more than two dozen positions will be added to a store where the head count is already 125.
"Our sister stores in Phenix City and LaGrange are also hiring 30-35 associates. The industry is picking up here so we're excited about that,” says Self.
Shelf says the temporary positions will last anywhere from 90 days to four-months.
A spokesperson for the Georgia Department of Labor says if you draw from unemployment insurance benefits you will likely be able to put your benefits on hold and re-enroll when the temporary job ends.
If you quit before your temporary position ends, that may disqualify you from the unemployment insurance benefits. However, each situation is different and you should check with your state’s Department of Labor if you have questions.
To apply for any of the positions, you can either go into your local Home Depot or apply online.
