A brother and sister team wants dieters to throw out what they’ve been taught, instead they want dieters to get Turbocharged. The concept takes the focus off weight loss and puts it on rapid “fat” loss in an eight step plan.
Dr. Dian Griesel and her brother Tom are out to turn the diet world over on its head. They say the biggest trap for dieters is that traditional diet and exercise advice is all wrong. The biggest myth in her opinion?
“Is that you can cut calories and add aerobic exercise because you’re supposed to burning up extra energy. And this just creates such a calorie deficit. Your brain is screaming feed me,” says Dr. Griesel.
But with what? Dr. Griesel says lots of fruit, vegetables and lean protein.
“Whatever kinds you want whether its chicken, fish, beef, eggs, cheese avocado, nuts, eat up.”
Turbocharged focuses on rapid fat loss and getting up and moving, not necessarily aerobics.
“Turbo chargers count everything. We count vacuuming your house, making the beds, doing your laundry, watering your plants, weeding your garden, washing your car.”
She says the weight loss will come once you get lean.
“When you are lean and you have rid yourself of excess body fat you are healthier, your bio markers will improve, your cholesterol will improve, the chemicals that go up from stress, all of this will improve as you get leaner.”
Another tip she says start the day with 16 to 32 ounces of water.
Traditional weight loss advocates stress slow and gradual weight loss coupled with exercise. But Dr. Griesel says most people need to lose in excess of 20 pounds. She says rapid fat loss is the way to go, because obesity is dangerous.
