Adrianne Dozier just like her mother, is among about 25 million Americans facing the pain of varicose veins.
"Couldn’t hardly stand and my legs would just cramp all the time worse than a toothache and they were very sore.”
She did not want vein stripping surgery, feeling it was too invasive. Instead she chose the VNUS Closure procedure at the Center for Vein Care and Surgery in Columbus.
Dr. Robert Edwards closed her great saphenous vein in both legs and her small saphenous vein as well. This allows blood, which had been backed up, to flow through the healthy veins. It takes four procedures, one each week, for about 20 minutes. In time, the once knotty, twisted varicose veins will flatten.
In a fifth appointment, Adrianne is checked for blood clots. Tune in to News Three Nightwatch Wednesday night at 11/10 central for Part 2 of this special report.
