Students with the Columbus State University Department of Theatre and Student Activities will perform a performance of “Neighborhood 3- Requisition of Doom,” this weekend in the Riverside Theatre Complex.
Set in a subdivision, the play explores parents who find their teenagers addicted to an online horror video game that comes to life. The characters find themselves in an army of zombies as they try to escape the neighborhood for good.
Director of the play, Dr. Kate Musgrove, says because of language, the play is recommended for those who are 14-years old and up.
Tickets start at $15 and performances start at 7:30pm Saturday and 2pm on Sunday.
There are many other events happening this weekend.
On Saturday the 5th annual Father-Daughter dance will take place from 6-9pm at Central High School in Phenix City.
Tickets are $30 per dad/ daughter and all funds go to the Russell County Child Advocacy Center.
The Auburn University Dance Marathon kicks off Saturday at 10am.
This 12-hour fundraiser in the Student Center Ballroom benefits Children's Miracle network hospitals. For more information call 334-844-3278.
And a career fair geared towards high school girls will take place at the Coca-Cola Space Science Ccenter Saturday from 10am until 3pm. Girls Scouts of Historic Columbus is hosting the conference.
Called Women in STEM, or Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, girls in 6th to 12th grades can interact with female scientists, engineers and meteorologists.
The cost is $15.
