Seven Year Old Eufaula Boy Dies From Injuries

A seven-year old Eufaula boy dies after succumbing to injuries from an alleged beating by his father. Nathaniel Turner had been clinically dead since last Tuesday. His family made the decision Saturday
to take him off a ventilator at a Massachusetts hospital. Kelli Whitehead is grieving the death of her former student Nathaniel Turner. She taught the little boy this year in first grade at Eufaula Primary school. Whitehead says she had a special bond with the seven year old who was one of her favorite students. “And he was one of the children who loved to get the hugs and loved attention. He would beg to stay in everyday from recess and he just wanted attention and liked to help me and tried to please me” Whitehead said. Family members were not home Monday in Eufaula. Nathaniel Turner’s grandmother is with other relatives
in Massachusetts planning funeral arrangements. The 7-year-old will be buried in Massachusetts. Nathaniel Turner was visting his father there this summer when police say his dad physically abused him.
36-yr-old Leslie Schuler was arrested and charged with assault and battery for allegedly beating his son on fathers day.
