Valley Legislator Urges UAB To Reverse Same Sex Decision

A Valley legislator is asking the University of Alabama at Birmingham to reverse a decision to extend health insurance benefits to same sex partners of employees.

The decision to add same sex partners will take effect in January.

State representative DuWayne Bridges says the issue is a moral and financial one.

The University says it will make them more competitive in recruiting faculty.
