Year Round Christmas

Mary Reed says she has loved Christmas ever since she was old enough to understand what it was.  Mary’s home is a reflection of her love affair with the holiday.  Halloween may be approaching but that doesn’t matter to Mary.  Whether you visit her in October, December or July the decor will always be the same.  “It does look very strange to see a Christmas tree on the Fourth of July, but that’s okay.  I enjoy it,“ Mary says.  She figures over the years she had collected over 300 Santa Clauses which were meticulously placed around her home.  However, a fire in February destroyed the house and most of the Santas.  She thinks she saved maybe eighteen of them.  The idea for having Christmas year round wasn’t really intentional.  She had her home fully decorated for the Christmas holidays ten years ago when her husband, Dan, died on December 27th.  Mary said there was no way she could put all those decorations up by herself.  So she decided to just leave them on display 365 days a year.  She gets a big smile on her face as the Christmas holidays approach because she knows she doesn’t have to go through the tiring decoration process.  She’s also glad she doesn’t have to put all those decorations up after Christmas.  Mary says, “It’s here all year round which is so wonderful.“
