SOLDIER ON A MISSION TO RETRIEVE STOLEN GOODS

    Captain Grant Saxena lives in the Brittwood Apartments in Columbus.  When he returned home from post last Wednesday evening he discovered his front door had been kicked open.  Thieves had stolen his flatscreen TV, DVD player, laptop computer, hard drive and some cash.  The material possessions were tough enough to lose, but what upset him the most was losing the information contained on his computer. 
    Grant loves to play the guitar.  He started playing when he was thirteen.  He even played with some small bands.  Over the past few years he’s started writing some songs, including while he was deployed to Iraq in 2007.  Saxena says, “Over there I didn’t have a guitar and writing music was an emotional release for me.“  One particular song had special meaning.  He says, “It was a song that I’d kind of done as a result of an incident that had happened when we lost four guys.  It was played at a memorial service.“ 
    All those songs were on his computer.  “The worst part about it is just knowing that all those songs that were written during deployment and the backups for all that stuff is just completely gone.“ 
    Grant called the Columbus Police Department who are investigating the break-in.  Grant did keep the serial numbers of all of his equipment which police say is a good idea for anyone.  Grant adds, “Any information on where this stuff would be or a way for me to recover it would really be all that I could ask for at this point.“
