Allyson Davis teaches the second grade at the new Mountain Hill Elementary School in Fortson.  She says her mother and one of her aunts are teachers, so it does run in the family.  But Allyson also credits her experience in church.  “I used to be a Sunday School teacher and that’s what really got me into teaching.“  Her students’ smiles first thing in the morning give her all the incentive she needs to come to work.  She says, “I always enjoy being around children, trying to brighten their day and teach them something new.“  Allyson wants her students to enjoy the learning process as much as she loves teaching them.  “I hope they will always aspire to do their best and hopefully they will become something that is productive in society and be able to give back.“  Allyson is a graduate of Harris County High School and is thankful for the opportunity to teach not far from where she went to school.
