Fort Benning Blood Drive Brings Out Dozens of Donors

The 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division hosted a blood drive today. The blood collected will go toward helping soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan.

This is the first major blood drive the post has put together. An organizer for the blood drive says they expect to collect over 500 units of blood.

“To see all the soldiers here, I’m very happy you know, it makes me feel proud that you know we all can come together and do things for our fellow soldiers,“ says donor Robert Hood.

The blood collected today will arrive overseas within 72 hours.
