Major General Retired Jerry White has spearheaded the effort to build the 90 million dollar facility.  It opened June 19th with an estimated four thousand spectators on hand to hear the dedication remarks by keynote speaker General Colin Powell, former Secretary of State and former Chairman of the Army Chiefs of Staff.  The National Infantry Museum is expected to attract as many as 400,000 visitors each year.  Several days prior to the grand opening General White gave News Three’s Phil Scoggins a personalized tour.
