New Miss Georgia Emily Cook joined News 3 This Morning Monday morning. Cook was the first runner up in the Miss Georgia contest and assumed the crown from Miss Capital City Kristina Higgins.

22-year-old Cook is a graduate of the University of Miami and has been accepted and plans to obtain her law degree from the University of Georgia Law School.
Cook was the first recipient of S. Davis Laney Legal Studies Scholarship and the Evening Wear Winner in Thursday night’s preliminary competition.
For her talent, she performed “Carmen Fantasy” on the Oboe. She is the daughter of Randy and Annie Cook and promotes Breast Cancer Awareness in Young Women.
Cook will represent Georgia at the Miss America Competition in Las Vegas, NV in January 2010.
