Alabama State Employees Paychecks Shown on Open Website

In Alabama,  A state Web site is starting to report
the paychecks issues to state employees and government officials.
    The Web site lists the checks
issued Oct. 1 to thousands of state employees, but many public
officials are not listed, including the governor.
    A spokesman for Gov. Bob Riley says most state officials
aren’t on the Web site yet because they are paid on a different
schedule than state employees. More state officials will start
showing up Thursday, when they get their first check of the month.
