Autopsy Pending for Marion County Teen

An autopsy was conducted this morning at the state crime lab for 18-year-old Erick Gutierrez of Marion County. Preliminary results are pending.

Gutierrez, a Senior at Marion County Middle HIgh School, collapsed Tuesday evening as he was bending over into a stance to run a football play. Paramedics responded but could not revive him. He was later pronounced dead at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia.

Visitation will be held Friday at 6 p.m. at the Chapel of Tante in Buena Vista, Georgia. The funeral is set for Saturday at 2 p.m. at the same location.
