Police Find Missing Woman’s Body, Husband Charged with Murder

Investigators found the body of 26-year-old Jilani Platt a little after noon Monday in a retention pond next to Schatulga Road. The woman’s husband, 31-year-old Zyderrious Anthony Platt, has been charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. He was arrested Saturday for possessing a firearm as a felon, in what was initially considered a separate incident.

Family members reported Jilani Platt as missing around noon on Saturday after she did not pick one of them up at a scheduled time. She was an employee at the Rite Aid pharmacy on Flat Rock Road.

Her body will be transported to the state crime lab in Atlanta where an autopsy will be performed Tuesday morning.
