Fifty employees are expected lose their jobs at Columbus’s Cessna plant over the next two weeks.
The local job cuts are part of a wave of 1,300 layoffs companywide.
Cessna first announced the upcoming layoffs in June. Those affected at the Columbus facility include production and
nonproduction workers. Cessna spokesman Doug Oliver said they will receive 60-day notices and severance packages.
The aircraft manufacturer now employs about 475 people in
Columbus.
