District Attorney Julia Slater, flanked by law enforcement from several counties, told reporters the case against Michael and Phillis Bleckley is being prosecuted by her chief deputy, Alonza Whitaker.
Whitaker introduced the members of the Kim family who say they’re victims of the Bleckleys who took their money to invest it. Sun Kim said they were approached by Micheal Bleckley.
The Bleckleys were indicted on charges of Conspiracy to Commit Theft, Failure to register as Broker-Dealer, 7 counts of Theft by Taking, 7 counts of Selling Unregistered Securities and Violation of Georgia Racketeer Influence and Corrupt Organization Act (RICO).
The couple own the famous Bulloch House Restaurant in Warm Springs and funeral home in Richland. The restaurant is open for business.

The Bulloch House, founded in 1990 by Charles and Sylvia Garrett, and Judy Garrett Foster was truly a labor of love. Over the last 20 years they have created what I consider to be an institution here in Meriwether County. The recent allegations against the new owners of the Bulloch House, Michael and Phyllis Bleckley are disturbing and extremely disappointing if proven true. However, the employees, patrons, and community are deeply concerned about the welling being of the Bulloch House. As a former employee of the founders, a community banker, and friend of the Bulloch House Restaurant, I ask everyone to continue to support the Bulloch House Restaurant during this difficult time…. not for its “legal owners” but for the remaining stakeholders, particularly the employees and faithful patrons.
