Georgia’s Governor Creates Water Wars Task Force
Published: September 30, 2009
A task force is being created to help develop contingencies for water consumption. The task force comes as a result of the recent water ruling
limiting the access of Lake Lanier for water supply.
Contingency planning is part of Governor Sonny Perdue’s four-pronged strategy
for addressing the ruling’s impact. Other strategies include
congressional action, negotiations and appeal of the decision.
The task force will include several dozen leaders from business,
government and environmental organizations.
