H1N1 Shots Arrive, But Not Full Supply

» 0 Comments | Post a Comment

Georgia’s West Central Health District received about 3,400 doses of the injection form of the H1N1 vaccine, but only three of the 16 county health departments acquired shipments. Over the next two days, the three health departments that did receive the vaccine will have to share with those that didn’t, so that all are ready to start shot vaccinations Wednesday morning.

The priority list is limited to pregnant women, caretakers of children under the age of 6 months, health care workers in direct contact with patients, all people six months to 24 years of age and people aged 25-64 with health conditions that might put them at higher risk of complications from influenza.

The Columbus Health Department still has 680 doses of the nasal spray vaccine to dispense.
