As KIA Motors Manufacturing Georgia opens up a second wave of hiring for about 1,800 positions, Kia’s suppliers in Alabama and Georgia still have more than half of the 7,500 planned jobs to fill.

Among the major suppliers “on the pad” with KMMG are Mobis, Glovis Georgia and PowerTech America. Fourteen new manufacturers have cropped up in Alabama and Georgia, while others have simply expanded their operations because of KMMG.

Prospective employees can apply via each state department of labor’s Web site.
