Michigan Based Company Plans Expansion of Columbus Foundry

Diversified Machine, Inc. bought Columbus Foundry on November 3. CFO Shankar Kiru tells News 3 that there was some misinformation about the future of hte company. Kiru says that if anything, Diversified Machine, Inc. is pleased with the team that is in place locally and they want to add to the facility in the future. Kiru cited a “strategic preference” as the reason behind the Michigan based company’s decision to buy in Columbus, Georgia. He says that his company has four locations, all within the United States. Kiru also stated that company officials would like to add to the approximately 160 employees who currently work at Columbus Foundry and that any reports that the company would close or layoff workers were untrue. According to the company website, Diversified Machine, Inc. focuses on vertically integrated, fully engineered aluminum and iron chassis and powertrain components.
