Self Defense Course For Military Wives

» 0 Comments | Post a Comment

The CDC says 1 in 4 women in the United States is a victim of domestic violence at some point in their lives. Two local groups are trying to help stem that tide by teaching women how to protect themselves.

To mark Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a self defense course is being offered Friday, October 23 from 10:00 until Noon at the Family Fitness Center behind what used to be the Officer’s Club at Fort Benning.

The course is for military spouses and civilians that work on post. It’s sponsored by the Family Advocacy Program on post and the Columbus State University Police Department. For registration information, call 706-626-2614.
