UPDATE: Police Investigating Homicide in Geneva

UPDATE: The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has confirmed that 22-year-old Ricky Peter Nichols was the man found dead.
Nichols was from Box springs, Georgia.

Police in Geneva are trying to find out how a man ended up dead in a pond.
The Talbot County sheriff’s office says a women living near the pond off highway 80 in Geneva spotted something she believed was a trash bag.
When law enforcement arrived they found it was a deceased male.
Deputies believe the man had been in the pond for one to two weeks.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigations is investigating this as a homicide.
The cause of death has not been determined.
The body has been sent to the crime lab in Atlanta.
