Police say it happened at a home on Cobb Street. Russell County’s Sheriff’s department is working in conjunction with the police department in Hurtsboro.

Investigators say 27-year-old Alford Brown left a Halloween party Saturday night, and went to someone else’s house off of Cobb Street.

He was fatally shot while getting out of the car he was riding in. Authorities say there were five witnesses at the house but no one was able to identify the shooter because it was dark outside.

Police do have suspects. Lieutenant Heath Taylor says this is a rare occurrence for Hurtsboro.

“I do feel like this was an intentional act and I do feel like it was intended for a specific target. I believe Mr. Brown who is the deceased, I do believe he was the target of the homicide,“ says Taylor.

If you have any information about this homicide call the Russell County Sheriff’s department at
(334) 298-6535.
