Ladonia Elementary Teacher Receives MEA Golden Apple Award

A Ladonia Elementary school teacher who encourages her young inquisitive students to think outside the box is this week’s MEA Golden Apple award recipient.

Ramona Williams is in her fifth year of teaching. She was nominated by a 3rd grade parent who writes of Williams, “ She is by far the best teacher any of my children have ever had! She nurtures his interest in Science. She is constantly pushing him to reach higher. She makes my son proud of himself! This teacher really understands children!”

Williams says she gets joy out of watching her students think like investigators as they try to navigate through math and science. But mostly, she just loves teaching, period.  “Because I learn from the children I get excited everyday coming to work knowing that not am I only going to give something, deposit something but I am also going to gain information. I’m going to also learn new things, says Williams.“
