Two of her students describe her as the world’s best teacher. We call her this week’s recipient of the Golden Apple Award.

Tammy Woods has been teaching at Brewer Elementary for 20 years. For the first time in those 20 years, she’s teaching 3rd grade.

Woods says her favorite part of teaching is seeing the growth in her students. “It just makes me really proud to see what they can do based on what I’ve taught them and help them to achieve and it’s such a great honor,” says Woods.

Two of her students, Quashaun Edge and Jaquan Clark nominated Woods for the MEA Golden Apple Award. “And they are a great joy and I love them as well and they are really learning a lot and they tell me all the time how much they are learning in my class.“
