A week from now, the new Natitional Infantry Museum will open the doors to their 292 seat IMAX theatre inside the museum.

Today they gave a sneak preview to the media. This is the 3rd giant IMAX screen in Georgia measuring 5 stories high by 70 feet wide.

Some of the films that will be shown at the theatre will cater to the military base in Columbus. Director Joe Kleiman says the museum as a whole will help bring money to the area.

“It’s a major revenue source for this museum and a major attraction to pull people down to the museum, it also gives something for the museum visitor to enjoy while they’re down here.“

The theatre plans to show a number of old military hollywood films.  To learn more about the IMAX theatre click here.
