Police have captured one suspect and they say they are close to nailing the other one in this case.

Kenya Jackson was arrested Friday night after he and another suspect identified themselves as police to a home of people who speak little English. They entered the home pretending as if they were raiding the place.

News Three spoke to one of the victims in this case. He did not want to be identified but he says at first, he believed the impersonators were police because they were asking for everyone’s identification.

It was after one of the suspects took the wallet of one of the residents that he decided to ask the impersonators for their identification. He says after that, the suspects started running.

Tanya Bachelor, an interpreter says many people in the Hispanic community are targeted because they are not familiar with those who patrol their area. One of the victims says he’s telling people to be more careful of those targeting certain communities.

“A lot of times, it’s lack of knowledge, they don’t know where to go, who to go to for this information so we just have to put it out there and help them,“ says Tanya Bachelor.

You can contact the Echo Latino at 706-324-4408 to voice your problems or concerns within the Hispanic community.

Police are still searching for the other suspect involved in this case. Jackson appeared in Recorder’s Court on Saturday, his case was bound over to superior court with a $30,000 bond.
