MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - A slow-moving train and a dump truck
have collided in Montgomery, derailing part of the train but
causing no serious injuries.
Police spokesman Lt. Mark Drinkard said the accident occurred
just after 8 a.m. Friday when the CSX transport train and the truck
collided. He said it appeared the truck driver did not stop for the
train.
Assistant Fire Chief William Davis said the truck driver
suffered a minor injury. No CSX employees were injured.
A locomotive and two freight cars derailed and a Hazmat team was
called to the scene. Drinkard said no hazardous material was
spilled.
The train was operating with 40 cars and two personnel on board.
