Remember When: Vietnam Orphan Jason Robertson
A special reunion is planned for the last weekend in March in Columbus which will bring together some 50 orphans rescued from Vietnam in 1975. One of those rescued was Columbus resident Jason Robertson.

SGT Bailey’s Body Returns Home
Friends, family, and fellow soldiers of Sergeant Lakeshia Bailey are seeking closure following Bailey’s death last week in Iraq. Bailey’s body arrived home Monday.

13 different tanks from The Armor and Cavalry Museum are sitting at their temporary resting point tonight. This is another visible sign that the Armor School is heading to Fort Benning.

Remember When: Rescued Orphans from Vietnam
For a Columbus family the 1970’s represented a special time when their home welcomed half a dozen orphans from Vietnam. They were airlifted out of the An Lac Orphanage in Saigon and were adopted by Les and Rose Smith who still live in Columbus today.
