Newman Steps Down At Shaw

Columbus, GA - The announcement was suttle at the Tuskegee-Morehead press conference on Wednesday. Area high school teams stood to introduce themselves to the group and when the Shaw Raiders spoke, Jamie Foxx, said, “Jamie Foxx head coach at Shaw.“

Scott Newman has stepped down as head football coach but will stay on as athletic director. The Raiders are 0-6 on the year and have only scored a total of 27 points. Newman went 15-15 in his career and has led the Raiders to the second round of the playoffs the last two seasons. Shaw begin 2008 0-5, before making it to the postseason.

Shaw plays Columbus on Saturday at Kinnett Stadium.
