Smith On Practice Field

CINCINNATI (AP) - First-round draft pick Andre Smith is back practicing with the Cincinnati Bengals, who have gotten next-to-nothing out of the offensive lineman so far.

Smith missed all of training camp and the first three preseason games in a contract holdout. Two days after he signed, he broke his left foot during a non-contact drill.

He put on one of the Bengals’ blank practice jerseys on Wednesday - a pristine white one that had yet to get a grass stain - and participated in some of the afternoon practice. Coach Marvin Lewis thinks the sixth overall pick could be ready to play against Baltimore on Nov. 8.

The Bengals envision him eventually starting at right tackle.
