Snorting at H1N1

The swine flu saga continues, but it still isn’t anything to oink at.

The CDC confirmed the second case in Georgia, but one can only hope that the high profile nature of this virus will keep serious cases to a minimum.

The challenge for the newsroom here, new ways to cover H1N1. We know it doesn’t come from pork, we know you won’t get it from eating Mexican, we know it isn’t going to kill you on impact and we know there is no vaccination.  So where do you go from here?  In a business that thrives on asking questions it is very hard to find answers on this topic.

But I have admit even the slightest hint of a flu symptom is throwing me over the edge. Is anyone else feeling like a hypochondriac?

The Odd Couple

This weekend my Mo met Harmony’s Butterbeans and to my surprise the meeting went very well!

At first I was a little worried because one Mo has never met a cat and two Butterbeans in much larger, and between you and me I think she could totally take Mo.

Harmony could see I was a little hesitant to allow the pair to play together but said in reassuring way “She loves dogs, you don’t have to worry unless you hear a hiss.”

So I felt good about that and let the two play. Things were going great UNTIL Mo devoured Butterbeans food and slobber all over and shredded one of her toys.

Needless say Butterbeans was done, and sure enough I heard the hiss Harmony was referring to, and let me say it was not pretty!

So I scooped up Mo and that was the end of their play date! But I have high hopes the pair will be great friends!

Below is a link about an odd pair of friends. It’s a CBS news story by Steve Hartman and is a sure tear jerker. Enjoy!
