The Paws Humane Society has individual rooms to keep their pets warm, but there is always something you can do to help. Adoption counselor, Valerie Carlson says, “Just anything for them to be able to stay warm especially when it drops down in temperature and everything like that it helps out a lot when the animals have something to curl up to, stuffed animals, just different things like that.” If you want to curl up to an animal these next few days local animals shelters say that a new home is the best way to keep these animals warm. Paws had a fostering program during the holidays and half of the pets fostered out for those 2 weeks were adopted permanently. Not all animal shelters in our area have indoor heating for animals. At least one shelter has had to euthanize sick animals for fear of them not making it through the cold weather. For complete list of all the items PAWS needs visit www.pawshumane.org.
