Who Would Have Guessed That Cosmetic Companies Are Cashing In?

Cheryl Simpson came to the station and spoke to me about how her company Avon is making a lot of money in this tough economy.

She says more and more people (even men) are starting to sell the product while they keep their full time job. Simpson has been doing this for 35 years and she says ever since she started she has not worked a regular job at all.

I admire someone who can motivate themselves to get out there and sell products to people. I’m kind of a salesperson in my field, I have to pitch my story and try to sell it to people who I want to interview.

I always said I could never be in sales, but I soon realized that it’s part of what I do! The whole point of Cheryl coming to the station for an interview was to talk about the job fair that the University of Phoenix is holding tomorrow.

She says they are hiring people on the spot and it only costs $10.00 to start up your own business. I thought this was a really interesting look at who is surviving in these tough economic times. I guess jewelry and makeup never get old!
