Inside Thoughts On Change Of Command

» 0 Comments | Post a Comment

I have to say the 75th Ranger Regiment Change Of Command doesn’t sound like a hopping event, but if you haven’t been to a Change of Command Ceremony at the National Infantry Museum you should. It is very impressive.

Over the field you can see the rooftops of the WWII Village, and dead center- a steeple. Thursday’s ceremony lasted a little over an hour, but military speakers can be suprisingly candid, and often, quite hysterical.

On a more somber note, it is always very humbling to see families watching their soldiers on the field, or often families that no longer have a soldier to watch.

Just a note for future cermonies- you do not have to actually enter Fort Benning to watch the cermonies. You park at the National Infantry Museum (off post) and walk over to the Soldier Field.
